Within these walls, laughter still echoes with soft whispers.
Within these walls, many achievements, birthdays and marriages have been celebrated.
Throughout it's history, the dollhouse was known for its exquisite dinner parties.
My to-do list was endless. I started my day before the sun, but the hot weather of July was brutal already. After completing my normal chores, I grabbed my satchel and headed towards the river to meet the chief.
He was all smiles as he gifted me tobacco, herbs and spices for the dinner party. He blew sage smoke all around me, fanning the burning sage with eagle feathers.
Today was a celebration of unity and strength between the divine masculine and divine feminine, he spoke loudly. He spoke of balancing that union within. He grinned and handed me a cigar.
We enjoyed a quick smoke together, chatted a bit, and off I went to visit the baker.
The town's baker had prepared the most divine chocolate fudge cake and brownies you could ever dream of! The aroma of breads and cookies put me in a trance, and hurrying back to the dollhouse, became a difficult task. I could not stay focused. Too much excitement, too little of time!
I had sent Samuel out to pick flowers, veggies and fruits from the gardens. Upon my arrival back to the dollhouse, he had everything prepped for me.
Samuel, Javier and I began cooking for the dinner party. We added the chief's special ingredients to the beef, chicken, rice and black beans. Chief blessed everything he had gifted us, explaining that food cooked with love from your ancestors heal and protect your soul! We added it all, in hopes of extra blessings!!
Our dinner menu was a sacred meal, passed down to Javier from his grandmother. As he tasted the black bean soup, Javier spoke of the island that his grandmother grew up on and of all of the luxurious ingredients that she would cook with. She taught him how food could heal everything, just as chief mentioned earlier. This meal, he said, would remove all aches, pains and negativity from your aura and leave behind blessings of bliss!
As the sun began to set, the guests began to arrive. Peacock feathers and red roses decorated the foyer and party room. The glow of candles led the way to the courtyard.
Liquor flowed into glasses while the music began to play. All of the women and men lit their cigars and raised their glasses to toast.
Dinner was spectacular! We feasted in the courtyard. Laughter and smiles for hours as memories of the past decades were retold. The cigars and fireflies lit up the courtyard in the dark night.
Into the late night, under the glow of the beautiful moonlight, the dinner party conversed with their ancestors, healing their souls. This was a close, small community of individuals who had bravely walked through the horrors of life and had succeeded in the most beautiful ways. Each guest, male and female, were warriors that had seen each other through the darkess of times. Tonight they blissfully celebrated together. Blessed by the chief and the ancestors.
